Trading places with Eddie Murphy from 1983. I was having a discussion with someone about Beverly Hills Cop and thought that was his first movie but the person stated that it was Trading places from the year before.

I don't recall my family or friends saying anything about this movie the whole time I lived in philly. Do now I have to get this on DVD.

I was amazed how far this city has come watching the philly scenes in the opening credits from 1982

Well, you are young, right? I can see how you would have missed knowing about it. And, yes, it's stunning how much the city has physically changed. No Liberty Place towers in those movies, for instance.

It's a scene near the municipal building at 1401 jfk that I could not recognize. Not sure if the area is gone

also its amazing how dirty even Rittenhouse was at the time

there are a few buildings on Walnut that had appearances as well

Another good example of Philly during this time is the first 30 minutes of the movie Witness with Harrison Ford

The only new building in that area is Family Court. Everything else was there in the 80s. Hmmm....

They had just given 30th St Station a big remodel before Witness was made there.

OK I better watch this movie. I was not born in 1982 yet but I must see this!
I want to see how much changes Philly had undergone all these years!

Honestly, I don't remember. It's been a long time & not a priority to remember. I just remember that there was a big remodel just before they made Witness. It was one of those times when the timing was right.
