Moving to Bucks County this summer from CT. Looking at the homes in both Central Bucks East and New Hope Solebury districts. Need info on elementary schools in those districts, specifically Buckingham Elementary in Central Bucks E and the Upper Elementary school in New Hope Solebury. The curriculum in New Hope is more in line with our current school. Buckingham also looks good, but it appears there is a heavy emphasis on a themed reading program (traditional textbook readers) called "LEAD 21", rather than using literature which is a concern for me as themed reading programs tend to focus on teaching to the test. Can anyone who has or has had children in either of these school districts enlighten me on the curriculum and let me know if the schools are open to a visit with the principal or teachers to discuss curriculum? We are planning on starting to look at homes in a week, so it would be helpful if I could get into a school to visit while I am there. My children will be entering third grade next year. Thanks in advance.
