At $10 for an annual membership, that's a steal. Economies of scale.

I predict this will be the most successful system in the U.S. It should expand to be the largest one too, since Philly has the most bike commuters of any city.

I'd noticed the station they installed on spring garden and had been wondering when it was going live. It doesn't have much effect on me either way since I don't bike or drive, but it seems cool. It would be nice if they integrated the payment system with SEPTA, especially once SEPTA switches over to their new system

If they put a station over at Camden Rutger, I'll be all over this.

I've used the bike share in Washington DC and found it very convenient, but frankly a little scary when we were on roads that didn't have dedicated bike lanes. We used the app to find available bikes to start. My daughter uses them regularly for her commute to work in DC but as has been mentioned, lack of bikes was a problem and she found out quickly that if she didn't get a bike by 7:30, she would be taking the bus or walking, because there weren't enough. Another relative uses them often in NYC and he said it was surprising how fast it caught on. I think having lots of bikes, lots of spots and bike lanes are key to making it successful.

That would be cool if they did integrate it with SEPTA....since SEPTA's new cards will be called SEPTA KEY. And it seems like their payment options will be the same.

If this is successful, there's real possibility to make Philly America's first bike-majority commuting city. This city is built for walking and biking. There isn't enough infrastructure to accommodate bikes yet.

so the process worked out pretty well

Did you have a pass or use a credit card

I saw a few around this weekend, am curious on the ease as I bike frequently but more could see visitors using this to bike then myself (I have a bike already)

Also how much did it cost you if I may ask, am more just curious for future reference
