I've been in Philly for about 7 months now (renting in BreweryTown) and looking to buy in about 1 year.

I love the style of homes available in Drexel Hill (the old tudor type that is) but like everyone else hate the heavy tax burden.

Does anyone know another neighborhood with Tudor style homes? (not in Philly; trying to escape Philly income/capital gains/Kenney taxes)

With Drexel Hill I'm really worried about future resale; with their taxes and school issue, I don't see it being a good place in 20+ years.

My price range is $300k to $400k for a 4bdr.

Trying to stay within 45 min drive to Center City.

Large Tudor style in your price range is going be tough I'd imagine. I was going to say east mount airy (wadsworth/allen lane area) but you don't want that. Like the person above said maybe try Elkins Park or Wyncote but iirc their taxes aren't low either.
