Hello,

I have a dinner meeting in Short Hills, NJ, outside of Newark, NJ on a Monday evening at 7PM. I am new to the area and have no concept of rush hours or traffic between Philly and Newark. Can anyone give me an idea if leaving 3 hours in advance allows enough time for rush hour traffic between Center City and Short Hills, NJ? Plan to drive up 95 on the NJ turnpike.

Thank you!
Beth

Google Maps has a nice feature where you can get route and duration estimates, and do so by date/time of departure. Using Monday late afternoon as date/time, Google gives you a range of 1:40 to 2:20 (that's downtown-to-downtown timing, using the NJ Tpk). The variable part, I imagine, is anything other than the Turnpike, which since its widening down to Exit 6 has been completely uneventful any time I've driven it the last couple of years.
