On the way home from OBX we'd like to stop in Philly for the night. We'd be coming into town Saturday afternoon. Recommend a good place to stay where we can park our car and safely walk around that night? Places to see or things to do? How would traffic be coming in Saturday afternoon?
I'm pushing to stay there so we can plan a longer weekend later and I can get a small taste of Philly. I'm a beer guy too if anyone has recommendations for that.

Thanks!

Stay somewhere in or near Rittenhouse and go to Monks for beer:

Monks sounds good! How is city traffic on the weekends?

Consider Alexander Inn | Philadelphia Hotel | Best Boutique Hotel in Center City for lodging.

The Phillies have a home game Saturday evening, so traffic on I95 will probably be heavier than normal starting at, say, 4:30-5:00. If you get to the Philly area before then you should be OK ("OK" by local standards, at least!)

Khyber Pass Pub on 2nd Street in Olde City will be more fun and less of a hassle than Monk's. Go for the po boys and pork nachos. Lotsa history in the area, also.
