Of course. There's a longstanding tradition of going "down the shore" during the summer, which isn't just for Philly folk but more generally Eastern PA folk.

Which beaches do you like best? We've only been to one, Ocean City, with our toddler so I'd like to know the amenities/diffs among them.

OC is probably the best for a toddler aged kid.

Most Philadelphians will probably vacation at the Jersey shore at some time...many do it annually or own summer homes.
Atlantic City & further south are the usual locations. I think Ocean City, Sea Isle City Avalon, Somers Point & the Wildwoods are the most populare amg. Philly people. Though some do go to Long Beach Island area.
Also as you move into western Delaware & Chester counties, lots of people go to the beaches in Delaware.

For week/weekend with the kids, Ocean City. Couples getaway Ocean City, maybe Cape May. Young professionals, Avalon. College kids and young blue collar, Sea Isle. PWT and ghetto thugs, Wildwood...but don't miss out on Wildwood's boardwalk...its great but better on a Sunday or weeknight than Saturday or Friday when all the riff raff are out...

Being in Wildwood, especially on the boardwalk, is like being in northeast philadelphia.

I did like the beach in Sea Isle City, it doesnt have the sudden decline, it stays pretty shallow pretty far out, so it's great for little kids.
