Gotcha! Well, good luck to you; I hope the early train works out for you. Pack extra patience in your bag, I guess. *sigh*

Thanks. Can't wait till this work week is over so I don't have to deal with this commuting nightmare for 2 days.

It all sucks but I suppose it' s better than something castastrophic happening. Just think of something as bad as the Amtrak derailment last year.

If it wasn't so unbelievably hot, you could bike in (depending on where you work downtown). In this heat, you would need to shower at work after a 30 min cool-down period.

Yeah and of course there aren't free showers in my office building - I'd have to pay for a gym membership somewhere just to be able to use the showers. I talked to another girl about it and she said she just does baby wipes in the morning but then another friend said no way, you absolutely need a shower after that ride.

I was just tracking the 430 train and it was 15min late so that should be fine for tomorrow as long as the 7am train gets me in without significant delays.

Well color me surprised! I was planning on taking the 62 back to Manayunk which was scheduled to get to me around 5:15pm BUT the 5:05 train out of Suburban was showing as on time. I tried to pull up its location on the app and couldn't find it anywhere so I decided to pop down to Suburban first to see the status. Sure enough, train rolls in right at 5:05! It was actually less packed than a normal day and everyone got seats the whole ride! We did crawl between Temple and North Broad though so ended up getting to Manayunk 10 minutes late.

If you're in the office tower district (aka 18th & Market), you could try PSC. It's really cheap and they may have showers there. I fully agree with needing a shower. It's way way too hot right now.

I spent the entire day in CC and didn't notice any additional vehiculat traffic. Are lots of folks on vacation??

The " excuse " about the slowness is weather related according to septa.

I think a lot of people are on vacation. I usually take the Trenton Line to work, but with the train switches and being still tired from the weekend, I drove instead to save time. On the drive home, I was shocked at the lack of traffic.

SEPTA has been saying all along that a lot of people are likely still on vacation through this week. Next week should be way worse.

What I don't get is the extremely vast difference I experienced taking the same train on Tues that I did on Weds. Perhaps lots of people are able to find other ways to get home. But Tuesday, we couldn't fit anymore people on the train. Wednesday, there were even empty seats!

I'm checking the app right now and the very first Manayunk train of the day is already reporting 4min late. Will see what happens for my train in an hour.
