Default Taxi companies in Philadelphia

I did some on line research looking for opinions about taxi travel in center city. I found a Philadelphia blog with various opinions, but it was rather short and limited. 'Yellow Cab takes too long to arrive, Convention is good, etc.'

Are there suggestions or personal experiences any of you can share?

I lived in Rittenhouse Square over the summer and there was always a taxi for me to hail no problem- unlike Mid Town Manhattan where I would wait 20 minutes to hail a cab.

I agree with Old City Cab. Along with that one, my friends also frequented Quaker City Cab.

I also concur with Leighland; you will have no problem hailing a cab in Center City.

I live in Rittenhouse Square area and I don't have a problem getting a cab in Center City Day or night. The only time it seems ot get hectic is on NYE I come from NY and to me it is much easier getting a cab here versus NYC.
