einsteinresident is on a distinguished road
Default poor-resident

Hello all,

I will be starting a residency in Einstein, Philly. Can someone give me a few reccomendations on good places to live that are safe, easy commute to the hospital (within 25 mins) and relatively affordable. I am open to buying a condo/townhome in nearby suburbs, or living in center city (likely renting). For now, I have looked into Roxborough, Manayunk. How is Elkins Park?? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

If you can, live in center city. Check out Washington Square West. The upside is that you won't need a car. You can take the Broad Street Subway right to the hospital.

Elkins Park fits your criteria. I would assume if you're doing a residency it would be better to commute by car, given the hours you'd be working. EP is probably an easier commute than Manayunk or Roxborough.

Springfield, Delco, Drexel Hill, Havertown...all right on the outskirts of West Philly so plenty of ways to get to the city...

None of those places gets you to Einstein in 25 minutes.

Yeah I wasn't 100% on that but like many things...Cheap, Safe, Super Close...pick 2! And according to Google, it would take 28 minutes to get there from the center of Drexel Hill....more like 40 in real time I would guess....
