There is a lot of violent crime in Philadelphia inner city neighborhoods...Just live in a quiet and nice vicinity.

philadelphia is one of the best cities for young people in the US. because certain parts of the city are just made for them. but everything is bigger and grander on a higher scale populated city, which includes the good and the bad. but i think you would enjoy philly tremendously =D

There are some bad areas in Philly to be sure, but there are also some very nice neighborhoods. Like any other city you will have your nice areas and your rough areas. Great food in Philly tho. Weather is fairly cold in winter, but nothing compared to Minnesota I'm sure. There are a lot of great things about Philly. If you do come to visit or move here, be sure to visit the art museum, South Street, the Italian Market, etc. Welcome.

Good point about the taxes in Philly. They are awful. Hopefully they will get rid of the wage tax, although there is no reason to think that will happen anytime soon. In my opinion a lot more people would live here if it weren't for taxes, because I have heard of a lot of businesses moving out of the area b/c they could not afford the taxes. I'm a Democrat too, and even I think the taxes are a little ridiculous around here.

Best wishes.

Philly is one of the greatest "forgot about" cities in the country. Pound for pound you cannot beat Center City. Cities like Phoenix, Dallas, Houston are not even on the same level. They do not posses that unique mix of history, charm, urbananity, density and walkability that makes a city great. For every bad thing you say about Philly, there are at least ten good things that makes the city unique.

But at the same time, Phoenix is not on the same level with Houston and Dallas.
