My thinking: the Eagles will have the right combination of players, GM, and coach to get to (and hopefully win) a Super Bowl sometime in the next 25 years. Until then, patience and a good sense of humor are needed...even though I want to throw things at the TV at times when I see them about to win a game and then blow it by doing something STUPID.

In my krunken, negative state, I fully expected them to blow that game Thursday ... I think the guys at the pub would have kicked my ass if they did.

I'm pretty much done with our local version of the NFL though. It kinda mirrors how I will never care about the Sixers again and how that happened over time. I still have an inkingly of hope for the Phillies because baseball has always been my sport. The Flyers...well....we'll see.

I understand your feelings on the Eagles ... there's a reason so many people abandon them and start rooting for other teams.

I'm hoping to see one more championship from the Phillies. Barring an early illness or an accident, I probably have about thirty years left, I have faith in them.

Well, I won't root for other football teams. I will just stop caring about football altogether. Not too hard for me really.

That's the thing; I probably do not have 30 more years left. And what I have left means I refuse to devote dwindling energy on losers.

It's easier to win a championship in baseball than it is in football which is why the Phillies have 2 titles since 1980 and 3 appearance in the WS.

Why do you think that?

I pick up on a team (or find something to dislike about another) to keep it interesting. I'd like to see New England beat Dallas in this year's Super Bowl.

Because baseball titles are based on individual talent. NFL titles are based on the talent of a team of players working together and have chemistry.
