How is Bensalem, PA
I am up for a great opportunity in PA and I was looking at being in or very near the Bensalem area. I am a 27 year old black woman , no kids, boyfriend who will be looking for a career in graphic design, and looking for a nice quiet safe area. I am in North Jersey now and I know living in south jersey would be ideal if I want to stay in Jersey but I am not sure so I am trying to weigh my options. Anything would be better than my commute from north jersey I cant see putting so many miles on my car per day. I have seen a few places online for $750 per month in PA and south jersey which would be what I am looking to pay. Any insight on where to look?
Thanks

Bensalem, PA is pretty decent for a single person. It is a fairly safe working-class community. There is lots of shopping and restaurants and it has good highway access. I'd try to stay to the area North of the PA Turnpike (276). It is nicer.

No prob neekah. I just read your OP again and realized you are also looking in South Jersey. How far are you willing to be from Bensalem? I can recommend the Pickwick Apartments in Maple Shade, NJ. They are about $780/month and a 30-35min drive to Bensalem up the turnpike. Great location close to shopping and restaurants.

well i have gotten lazy so the shorter the commute the better. I also love that the Crossroads Outlets (I think that is the name) are in PA. Plus I am not fond of the turnpike. I got lucky when I drove to Bensalem there wasn't much traffic but there were boatloads of trucks.

From Maple Shade, I would just take the Tacony to state rd north, to 95 to street road... talking 20 minutes tops.

Not that part of Maple Shade (the section on church rd between cherry hill and mt laurel). Route 73 can be a pain especially in the afternoon as can 95. The tacony bridge is also unpredictable and street rd in bensalem is annoying w/ all the lights.
I work in Bensalem occasionally and I have taken both routes from Mt Laurel. I've found taking the NJTP to the PA Turnpike to be either quicker or the same amount of time and it is a much more relaxing ride.

You're only coming down 73 from Kings Hwy... It's not like you're coming from Medford or something.
I work in NE Philly, practically in Bensalem. I can get from RT130 at New Albany road, to work in about 12 minutes.

I guess it really depends on which part of Bensalem one is going to. IF someone is going to the part closer to the river and 95 then your way is definitely shorter.
On the other hand, the place where I work sometimes is located at Route 1 and Street Rd right by the PATP entrance. Coming there from 95 you have to travel about 5mi on street rd which is nothing but endless strip malls and traffic lights. You lose a lot of time there, whereas I can hop on the turnpike without hitting any traffic lights.
