Keep this in mind for a few years down the road:

The single best public high school in the entire state is located in Philadelphia. It also routinely ranks among the 50 best in the nation, per the U.S. News rankings - the only high school in Greater Philadelphia to make that list.
Masterman is primarily a middle school. The high school enrollment is about half the number of students in the middle school.

Sorry, but if there's an application process and students are admitted based on merit it's not really a public school. It's in the same group as something like McNair Academy in Jersey City. You can't move to Philly with the expectation that your child will go to Masterman.

Masterman is fantastic, but I am more impressed with Conestoga and its neighbors, they are among the best in the state and nation with open enrollment.

You could live in the city and get quality educational material available to your children through a cyber school. An option you could consider.
