The best way I can describe the dollar stroll is like a large picnic where all the businesses and families come out and set up tables along Baltimore Ave. and sell food/clothes/art/etc. it's one event that really brings UCity and the rest of west Philly together.

I was thinking of going to the Chinese Latern Festival this week in Franklin Square. Anyone been before?

The 2nd Street Festival is definitely one of my favorite. Great day out there today.

It would be hard for me to attend something like that because the area is small with so many people. I need to be in a area where everyone is spread out and able to walk without being on my heels.

Yeah it is tough to walk through at a lot of the street festivals. It was nice that the tents were on the road so if you needed to pull off on to the sidewalk, you could.
What's awesome about the 2nd street festival too, was the incorporation of the Schmidt's Commons. You could just relax in the piazza instead of walking the street.

Same. I used to enjoy these especially the one on 9th St/Italian Market. But, not so much anymore.

That was one of the main reasons why I never could tolerate South Street when my friends wanted to go there on a friday night. It was just a bunch of young people walking up and down the street staring at each other. lol

I would consider the Mummers Parade a kind of "festival".
