Once May starts, the city really comes to life in terms of the amount of festivals that take place.

What are some of your favorites?

Some of mine.

The Italian Market Festival

The South Street Festival

Rittenhouse Festival

Manayunk Arts Festival

Baltimore Ave. Dollar Stroll

Had a friend in town today and we stumbled across the Italian Fest, it was so lively and unlike anything he's been too, he had an absolute great time. Philly shows great to out of town guests and I was very proud today of the impression the city gives to visitors.

The festivals are great but it's a sardine can the whole way. I don't think it should feel like riding the 6 train during rush hour on a Saturday afternoon outside.

... Aaaaand that's why I avoid them. We went to the food truck festival in Chinatown a couple of years back and wound up eating in David's because the lines were so long.

I don't go to them anymore for just that reason.

Do you feel you're becoming old and crotchety?

I don't do the summer ethnic things at Penn's Landing anymore either.

Lol.... I am old and crotchety. Plus, I can't stand the loud music at these things. Too funny, because when I was young loud music and crowds never bothered me.
