Very nice hotel - very centrally located. A block away from the Reading Terminal Market, where you should go for lunch.

Great hotel but a little $$$$! I just returned from Philly yesterday. I went to visit the city since I had never been there. Lowes Hotel is near everything: the convention center, public transportation (or what the locals call SEPTA), Reading Terminal market, Starbucks, etc. The train station close to that hotel is called Market East. I preferred to eat there, rather than at the Reading Terminal Market since it was very overcrowded and chaotic...Could be because the Flower Show was on at the convention center when I was there. Otherwise, I think it's a nice city.

I looked at the Lowes for my wedding in Winter of 2007. It's very nice, very modern, and since I am quite traditional I opted for a different venue. However, some of their banquet rooms are very fancy and staggering...one in particular, the Millenium Room, has extremely high ceilings and gives 100% of the dramatic effect someone might be looking for. I've also eaten lunch at the restaurant but I have nothing much to say about it as I don't remember much. If you are going to pay the $ to stay at the Lowes, just try the Ritz Carleton which is on Broad street I think, on the other side of City Hall. I remember staying there!
