Default Moving to Bryn Mawr

I've been looking at this message board for a few weeks, and searched a few threads as well. I'm not finding any previous threads that fit my questions, so I am going to go ahead and ask...

My wife just got offer at job at Bryn Mawr Hosp., which is great new for her. While we have a car, we are both walkers/public transit fans, and we are hoping to keep our daily driving to a minimum. We currently live in a midwestern college town where I walk to graduate school/work, and she either walks or rides the bus to work. She wants to live pretty close to work, as her hours will be varied, and she doesn't want a long commute, and would prefer public transportation if needed.

As for myself, my career skills are likely to lead me to find some work in the city, and I'm looking at taking SEPTA into town.

Do people have any recommendations on where to live? We are both urbanites, although I appreciate streetcar suburbs (which most mainline towns seem to be) as well. Are there any neighborhoods in Philly that would be worth checking out as well? We are looking for a two bedroom apt.duplex that would run between $900 and $1200 a month.

2 bedrooms in Bryn Mawr are gonna cost you 1350 a month at the least. The R5 drops off a 5 minute walk to the Hospital.

Maybe try Haverford/Havertown...10 minute drive to the hospital, public transportation to the city, and probably lower rents...

Do a search on craigslist for Ardmore. There are listings for two bedroom apts. in your price range. It's a 4 minute train ride to Bryn Mawr and a 23 minute train ride to center city (opposite directions).
