This site, and a few others said it was 1966.

It was '65. My dad got transferred in '64. We moved from Michigan & that next winter, '64/'65, Cherry Hill had a snow day for no more than an inch of snow. We were mystified. The next Christmas, in the winter of '65/'66, we had the Christmas Eve storm. We didn't know about nor'easters yet. It was a large mysterious blizzard. We woke up on Christmas Day to no sign of plowed roads. My parents had a huge fight because Dad was hell bent that we were going to church. Mom eventually called the church & was told that there were no services. The next day, the 26th, Mom looked out a window & called us & we all stood there amazed that a pickup with a blade on the front bumper was pushing the snow around. I was 14.

I remember watching the grocery grabs on the news.

^^^^Yeah, I was talking about the Christmas Eve storm. I remember it so vividly, even though I was much younger than you because we had to drive through the teeth of it, and there were a few times we didn't think we'd make it.

I remember it vividly because we were snowed in on Christmas Day & the next day was when we first saw the township pickups plowing.

I also remember about the grocery runs because each station sent a reporter to a grocery store to report on it & then they would show film, later video tape, when the portable units were invented. My mother would always remark about it & I would remind her that we got snowed in that 2nd Christmas that we lived in Cherry Hill.

I remember vividly living threes college, any talk weather strip down the regional supply of milk , eggs & bread...... I just people really liked French toast when it got wintery

Seems like if you are bracing for a big storm and potential impact would grab non-perishables

Didn't have too many real storms while I was there, but it didn't take much to create a real mess..... I remember couple of 4"-6" storms that had everyone in a panic

One hit during the weekday and out was a mess. A lot of co-workers declared it as emergency and stayed at the hotel across the street (i assume just an excuse to get blindly drunk with friends). I was handed a pair of Sixers tix for the game that night. Was a mess getting there, game delayed and empty stadium.
