I wouldn't say that "all" Trump supporters are racist, but enough of them talk trash about blacks and Hispanics that they have created their own stereotype, whether it's deserved or not.

Steve Bannon said the other day, if somebody calls Trump supporters "racists", they should wear it as a badge of honor. SB doesn't work for Trump anymore, but he was one of Trumps main advisors until a few weeks ago. Steve Bannon talking like that only reinforces Trumps adversaries that Trump supporters are racists.

Just because someone can do something doesn't mean they should. I agree with that. "Opportunity" is not "mandate."

The larger point, though, is that absent "gentrification," they won't have a more valuable asset to pass on either.

Didn't you go on a bit about the property at 53rd and Chestnut going for 700k and how surprised you were? So, wrong... property in non-gentrifying areas has the potential to increase in value. Obviously I completely disagree with you about this.
And, now, I'm wasting my time even discussing it further with you.

If you say so, but I'd counter that had property values not risen to the east of that block over the past several years, I wouldn't have seen that rehab.

I believe you've also heard me go on about "the Wave." That astonishing sale didn't occur in a vacuum.

But to your point: you might want to keep an eye on things going on up my way.

BTW, WHYY-FM all week has been running a very good series of reports on gentrification in Philly. They're available to read and listen to on whyy.org.
