The Met Philadelphia

Pretty exciting stuff. Live Nation seems to be putting in the time to promote the place with this movie style trailer. I also thought it was interesting they allowed the venue to be described as a "story of survival" since it truly is. I have no problem with them taking credit for 'saving' of what remains of the original opera house. I like the tagline "Showtime Redefined". This is a big piece of the puzzle in terms of connecting the surrounding neighborhoods.

The Met schedule is announced, Bob Dylan will open the venue

Pretty cool to get such a legendary artist to kick off the rebirth of the place.

My mind is officially blown!

Tbh, this really, for me, makes up for destroying the Boyd which I was very upset about for the longest time.

Can't wait to see a show here.

Think you could make a case that Philly has the best set of mid-size music venues in the country -- E-Factory, Fillmore, TLA, Tower, World Cafe Live, Union Transfer, the Kimmel Center (although too fancy for most things I see) plus this place.

Both the Kimmel Center and the EF have seating capacities in excess of 3000 and the Fillmore is over 2500, etc.. What would you consider a "large" concert venue, excluding sports stadiums? Carnegie Hall in NYC is smaller than the Kimmel Center and I doubt anyone would refer to it as "mid-size".
