Hello...I'm not sure if its appropriate for me to post an old photo on this forum of what may be my great grandfather in front of an organ in a church in Philadelphia. This photo was with some other photos that belonged to my grandmother. I know that its a long shot but I was hoping that someone on this forum may recognize the organ and/or the background in the church to help me identify the church. I know that my great grand parents did live in Philadelphia and that their son (my grandfather) was a very talented musician himself. By the date on the back of the photo(June 1910) I'd have to say that it may be my great grandfather since my grandfather wasn't born until 1912.
So if anybody has any idea of what church it may be or maybe where else I can research the location I'd be very appreciative! Bob

That's not a lot to go on, but I can deduce that the church in question is Protestant; Catholic churches of that era typically did not put the organ up in the sanctuary like that, but rather, back in the choir loft.

Do you know what part of Philadelphia your great grandparents lived in? That might help narrow the search.

Fireshaker my grand parents lived in "South Philly". They lived on Hicks St. but I've seen their address listed as South Hicks St. near Jackson St.
