It's been years since I've been back for the holidays. Last time was 1996 or 97. Do any of the Christmas shows that used to happen at Gimbles, Strawbridges, or Lit brothers still exist? I'd love to go see for old time sake. If nothing else at least I'll get to see mummers for the new year!

The light show still happens at the Wanamaker building (Macy's). The Dickens village is upstairs. Go during the week though because it's packed on the weekends.

The Christmas village and light show at city hall are relatively new but a lot of fun. Tree lightings are fun too. The art museum already had theirs but the city hall, Rittenhouse and old city lightings are coming up.

Thanks! Wanamakers! Not sure why I couldn't think of that name!

And if you want to hear the live organ at Macys go to the 12pm or 6pm shows. The other shows are prerecorded and nowhere near as good as hearing the live organ (still gives me goosebumps).

The Comcast Center near 17th and JFK has a cool wall that plays a Christmas show, fun shots of the city and cute music. It plays at the top of every hour (except 5pm).

The entire area around City Hall is so much better than it used to be. Ice rink, a better tree, carousal, ferris wheel, lots of little vendors and food, and its right across from the Christmas Village in Love Park.

Dickens Village that was in S&C is now in Macy's as is the "old" Wanamaker's light show.

I'm sure you know the organ in Macy's is still the Wanamaker organ.
