Default Norristown/Arcadia University

I appologize if this has already been asked, but nothing came up in my search for it. Here's this situation: I'm a college student looking for an apartment and found the Curran Terrace complex in Norristown. I was reading some posts about it, but most were about if the area was good for school aged children, but what about college students? And if not, if anyone knows the area around glenside, is there a better place that's close to the campus?

You can Google "apartment complex glenside pa" for a list of places. You could literally spit from Oak Summit Apartments to Arcadia. From the outside, at least, the Rosemore apartments further up Easton Rd. look pretty well kept. There are also apartments that are not part of a complex.

For a suburb, Glenside is a good place to live off-campus - convenient with a train to the city, some decent bars, walkable.

Norristown is pretty far away from Arcadia -- you just can't get there from here.

Closer neighborhoods include Glenside, Jenkintown, Ardsley, Roslyn.

My husband went to Arcadia University and lived in the Trilogy Apartments which are less than 5 minutes to the campus. I think they are now under new management and are called the towers at wyncote. there is ample parking and SOME kids walk to campus from there. There are also quite a few apartment buildings near campus in the Wyncote area and the Glenside area. Try searching them on Google or Yahoo. The area is pretty safe, though Arcadia is right on the border of East Mt Airy, which is a relatively nice section of Philadelphia.
