Default move is almost complete!

so.. we're just bout down with our move.. we're going into the upper dublin school district-ambler PA to be exact.. any thoughts? info? from what i've read it all seems very positive but i like real feedback from people.. we're zoned specifically for the fort washington elementary school. it seems to be a good school, although according to the stats its not as diverse as some of the others in the district... any thoughts from anyone?

Upper Dublin certainly is a highly regarded district, though the value of your child's experience comes from the classroom teacher. Even in a good district it's possible to get a clunker. There are plans to build a new high school that, depending on the age of your child, may or may not be completed by the time s/he attends. The people I have dealt with at the high school are quality. Sandy Run is the middle school, and while middle schools often have the reputation as the weak link in a district's chain, I think the SR is probably as good as any other middle school in eastern Montgomery County. At the district level, the board is hard-working, though not always quick to come to decisions.
