Default Another Commute Question

What would a commute frmo the Airport area to Center City be like?
Also, in general, what are the characteristics of the airport area? ( as far as considering living there)

It is an easy commute because the distance is so short. I-76 can back up for a mile or two but there are many back street alternates. A 15 miniute ride may become 25 miniutes at the height of the rush. The only decent residential area near the airport would be Eastwick along Lindberg Blvd north and south of island Ave. There is a good shoprite supermarket and a k mart and some apartment complexes. It is sort of a trangent area, very suburban but not really family friendly, lots of singles, lots of hotels of course but very convenient to everyplace by car. Further west on Island Ave things go down hill pretty fast. The suburban towns to the south along Rt 13 are pretty grim, but not so bad as to be called slums.

I'm not familiar with that area - but am considering a short term stay on Tinicum or Bartram...any idea about that part?

Tinicum Township isn't particularly glamorous. I think you might also be speaking of Bartram Avenue in the Eastwick section of Philly which has already been described. There's only one apartment complex in Eastwick that I can think of. I believe it was run by Korman Suites. They showed me a sample apartment but for whatever reason they couldn't/would let me see my actual apartment until my move-in day. I wasn't feeling that so I declined. If you do live in Eastwick, try to get within walking distance of either the light rail train or the Regional Rail commuter train to get to and from Center City.
