Jasper Street Area?? (to live, car, drug)

Can anyone tell me what this area is like and is it safe?

Jasper St in Kensington? My mom used to live on that street. It's about a block away from Kensington Ave and when she lived there 10 years ago it wasn't safe. I doubt much changed. I remember her next door neighbor getting stabbed, some kid stealing a car and crashing it into her front steps and I think one of the blocks crossing it was a big drug block.

Yeah, I'd avoid it. ETA: unless you're into that stuff...as per your other post.
