Hello All,

I am looking into relocating from Boston >> Philly . I always hear the PHilly id full of crime and ghettoness. Not that I have a problem with that but I am just wondering what is the reality.

... Where I would work would be right near City Park on S Colombus Blvd. ? Ideally , I would like to live as near to work as possilble and not have have a car ( I don't currently own one).... any insight ? areas to look into ? areas to def. avoid ??

Any help is appreciated...

You'll hear different opinions on this board but there are many great neighborhoods in Philly. There are also many not-so-great neighborhoods in Philly. What might fit for you would depend on your age, gender, family size and how you prefer to spend your off-hours.

Where you'll be working is close to Center City (downtown) and many surrounding desirable neighborhoods. You certainly won't need a car in Center City and you can live fairly well without one in most of the city (with the possible exception of Northeast Philly aka "the concrete suburb").

So, if you give us a little more information about yourself, we can point you towards some appropriate locations.
