Default From the Triangle to Bucks County?

My hubby and I with our 2 little kids are considering a move from Chapel Hill, NC to Bucks County to be closer to family and for jobs. Here in NC, we live in wonderful neighborhood with kids playing outside, a neighborhood pool and park, and schools close by. Is there a similar neighborhood (s) in Bucks County near Doylestown? I am so used to the friendliness of this place that it would be hard to give it up. We are both from the Northeast, but NC has been wonderful.

I don't know much about Doylestown, but that describes Lower Makefield and Newtown.

Not sure about a pool, but some friends of mine live in Bedminster Square in Fountainville, which is near Doylestown. It is a very nice development with lots of kids. It is a newer development as well.

The pool and park in Lower Makefield are world-class. The New York Times did a story on this about a year ago.

My wife and I live in Charlotte right now but originally from long island, ny. We are considering bucks county also, or pottstown area to also be closer to family. Good luck to you.

Default Good luck with your move

We live in Bucks, and if Doylestown is where you will work, we recommend looking south of Doylestown for the best combination of housing value, schools, and things to do. If you go north, it is still too rural, and way too far from the Philly if you ever plan to visit there or use the airport.
Try Warrington, which has lots of great neighborhoods but is close to the Rt 611 corridor. There is a great new upscale shopping complex at 611 and Street Rd.
Another hot spot with good home values is the area along York Rd...look for Jamison addresses. That area feels more rural, but is still close to everything and only 10 minutes from the heart of Doylestown.
Some people who grew up in Doylestown will tell you the place has gone to hell, but the truth is the development has been well planned, and the town of Doylestown itself looks better and offers more to do than 25 years ago.
Lower Makefield is wonderful (we live in Yardley) but it is too far if you will work in Doylestown...it's about 20 miles, but all two lane roads, and it's a mess in bad weather.
You will love it here.

Default from chapel hill too

We left Chapel Hill a year ago and moved back to New England. Regretted it the very first day. Now we're looking in PA, Lower Merion county. We haven't found the same vibe as we had in Durham/Chapel Hill. If you find it here, please let me know!!

If it don't feel right don't do it! That was the fatal mistake I made.
Ever since living in VA I've never found a place that compares, certainly not here! So you're right about the vibes.

You're not going to find it. Stay in NC. If I could go there I would be there in a heartbeat.
