Orlando has good areas and bad areas. Crime seemed to be on the rise that past few years but you don't hear that much about it anymore. It's probably not much different than any other city.

We do have a new Rita's that opened up in our area. We also have a Philly Pretzel Factory. I think it helps the Philly natives cope in this weather. haha... Seriously, I think we have more people from Long Island in Orlando than Philly.

Best cheesesteak I have had since leaving Philly (where I grew up) is a place called Benny's (and they use Amoroso's bread):

Benny's Cheesesteaks!

Not that I doubt their quality, but I like how the one reviewer on the website misspelled "Geno's." Unless he's referring to a Gino I don't know about...

Probably the old Gino's chain of burger joints (shut down about 20 years ago?).

I always find the "Philly style" cheesesteaks lacking. The Philly burbs have awesome cheeseteaks. You always want to have chopped steak, not the grey slabs like pat's. You also steam your onions with the meat, not add them after the steak is done. Melt your provolone, or whatever cheese you prefer, wiz, american, on the meat then put it on the roll. I do like the Philly style rolls, though. Chewy with a sheen on the roll top. Then add a generous amount of marinara sauce. It comes down to how generous they are with their sandwiches and quality ingredients.

I agree......... you can stop at a WaWa on the Eastern Shore of MD and although it isn't that far of a drive to Philly... it is far removed from Philly....

I found chipped steak in a grocery store in Allentown today, but it all looked freezer burnt, as if they had just moved it from the fresh meat section to the frozen food section without re-wrapping. I did not buy.

When I make my cheesesteaks I saute my onions first and then add the (illegal) steak-ums. Once the meat is barely cooked, I drain the fat, spoon on my red sauce and add slices of provolone until it's just melty. Gotta work fast after the onions are done because everything else cooks fast. Then I fold the whole works onto an Amoroso roll. Now, could a Philly cheesesteak place do it any better?

Default Aint Nothing like a real Philly Cheesesteak, NOTHING!! LOL

I've also travelled to many places in our beautiful country, when I want a taste of home. I want a Cheesesteak!

So when I order one(A Cheesesteak) from places that I will not mention!( Legal reasons)!!!!

They Sux!

The real secret is the Bread!

Yes The Bread, they (Stores out of Philly) don't have the real Bread!

Also the attitude.

When I walk in a Store and I ask for something from my home town. I don't want to hear " Hi, What would you like?"

I wanna hear-- "Whose next"!!!!!
