Clearly Jersey is more wealthy, hands-down, than PA in general. MR, if this makes you fell superior, that's great. At the same time, suburban Philly (the PA side) is hands-down more wealthy than SJ and chock full of way more good jobs. You can't just pick and choose in an attempt to inflate your misguided ego.

And you didn't just do the same thing?
PA more white collar? Have you been out of the area? PA in general is blue collar, except for the 'bookend' cities of Phila and Pittsburgh and even the latter is a stretch.
The wealth you speak of in the area is nothing more than family wealth passed down from the generations, doesn't mean it can be had by all.
And as far as being 'chock' full of good jobs,I don't know where most of them are located but I had an actual worker from the employment office in Philly take me aside and tell me there's no jobs here.

About 25,000 new jobs per year are created in metro Philadelphia. Its definitely not the sunbelt and it certainly helps if you have connections, but there are jobs for the taking if you are in the right field, dedicated and qualified. Nobody can rightfully expect a job to be given to them. If you dont have that inside connection you need to have a positive attitude and go out and acquire the necessary job skills(whatever field that may be) and use due dilligence to acquire that job.
Philadelphia is full of people who have your close minded attitude failing to fully apply themselves and taking the easy way out.Unless you have some sort of physical or mental disability there is no reason you should be unemployed in this region. There is all kinds of community and social service job seeking help out there for those who want it.
metro Philadlephia unemployment rate 4.2%
national unemployment rate 4.6%
BPP very well said in regards to Mrodent.

Where do you get these 'statistics' from?
You said it right there, you need connections around here to get jobs. Which is what I think city of 'brotherly love' really stands for.
You can spew all that la dee da about 'closed minded attitude, failing to apply, yada yada'... All I know is as soon as I went over the bridge to NJ I got way better jobs than I've seen here.

No, I agreed that NJ is clearly more white-collar. I'm saying no one should argue that point. My point was that SE PA is where the white collar jobs are in terms of metro Philly.
Why haven't you left PA yet? You've been pissing and moaning for a long time now.
By the way, in case MoorestownResident or StuckPA haven't realized, there's lots of pro-PA people who readily point out Pennsylvania's faults. I'm one of them (inadequate infrastructure, ridiculous state store system and alcoholic beverage rules, small-minded politicians, corrupt self-serving unions). What I'm sick of is people who are so lopsided in their thinking that they either can't see any positives or who post and attempt to pass off opinion as fact.

Well this thread is on the Philadelphia region not the state as a whole. I was responding to his "PA is in for rough times" I would say that Bucks, Montco, Delco, and the Lehigh Valley are all doing well. I know the western part of the state is stuggling but I think this region is doing pretty good. I know you disagree though.
I just spoke about Chester County to make fun of the orginal poster.
