I'll be moving to philly sometime in the spring. Only problem is..Im not sure exactly where. I know of the bad places..I heard that northeast philly is nice and just a hitch and ride from center city. So, any suggestions would be nice. I have a couple jobs in line. So, Its not like im going down there with absolutely nothing. I'll have close to 4,000 with me to last about a month for rent and utilities. Let me know..

A lot will depend on what you value, where you work, and whether you want a 30 minute commute or a 60 minute commute. Northeast Philly covers a lot of area, some of it nice, some of it not.

Well, Ill be working with finnigans wake on nrth 3 & spring garden and juvenile justice center in north east philly located on state street in the northeast philly. I'll mainly be depending on public trans until I "get my feet wet". But I found a place called 7400 apartments located on roosevelt boulevard. So, im making strides slowly.but surely ill make it to philly.

It sounds like you'll be 9-5 in the northeast and night hours at Finnegan's Wake? I would live closer to the bar than to your day job if I were you. It's much easier and quicker to travel longer distances via transit during the day than it is at night.
Also, State St. is in West Philly. State Road is pretty long and runs from the Tacony neighborhood in the northeast through Holmesburg, Torresdale and out into Bucks Co. Not all of it is easily accessible by transit. btw - where are you moving from? |
