12. Currently $5 billion dollars worth of developments going on between Center City and University City.

13. Awesome nightlife in Manayunk.

14. Chestnut Hill, east Falls, West Mt. Airy would be neighborhoods that any city in the world would like to call their own.

15. Incredible sports venues including The Linc, Citizens Bank Park, Wachovia Center, Palestra, Franklin Field.

16. Ben Franklin Parkway.


I agree Philadlephia has serious issues dealing with the lower class getting left behind but for people to just continually smear the city as a whole is perplexing. There has to be a personal agenda. Its a great city to visit and there are many many great neighborhoods to live.

Rainrock I to I'am a philadelphian,but before philly can become a true world class city like New York or Chicago it has to deal with issues such as its crime rate. I mean nobody wants to come to a city called KILLadelphia. The city itself has huge potential, it just needs people with the right direction to deal with issues like this. And from a development stand point, this city needs to do a better job of attracting more buisnesses from the outside to support a stong office market for skyscrapers and high rises developments

Yes, I agree, but the murders are outside of areas most visitors or middle class people go. Its in North Philly and West Philly mostly. Center City is nice and I feel safe walking around, even late at night.

I think Philly is much more "livable" than NYC and you get to have your heart broken year after year by the Iggles, Philthies, Flyers and Sixers. What's not to like?





At least its not Detroit.

I love Philadelphia. LOVE it. Moved to Houston because of how cheap it is, and for a job, but once I sell my company I will probably move back.

Fellow Philadelphians, would any of you consider moving to NYC for any reason at all, my wife tried to get me to move to brooklyn once after she lived in the bronx for awhile and I told her HEllll Noooo. So would any of you move up there even if your wife wanted to??

I have strong ties in NY,but I'am a philly boy at heart, born and raised no dought. But the thing that burns inside me so much than anything in this whole entire world is its conservativness. Why does Philly hold back when it can offer so much more? The thing I love about NY is that they don't care, they take bold chances, they constantly set the trends, there more hungry. Philly..after all this time is just starting to get it. Its that same drive and competativeness NY has that Philly needs ,to shed that lame old underdog image, and finally become a top contender among other cities.

Philadelphia is its own worst enemy. When a city drops everything to watch a bunch of out of towners dressed in green (the Eagles), it just goes to show you that some people will never get their priorities straight.
