Hi all. I've spent the last month or so searching the forum and would love to have some specific insight from you all. I am a young single african american christian working in horsham with lots of travel (commute to airport). I'm looking for a nice neighborhood with character. I love older homes. I started to contemplate a townhome due to low maitenance but I don't know if I can do it, with my suburban roots
I would love to have a garage and yard (even if it's small) for my motorcycle and private BBQ's. Specific suggestions with supporting details are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. |

I would look in Abington, specificly the area around the high school and the hospital (19001) close to 611, and then maybe Jenkintown (19046). Don't be confused by the zip codes since they also include surrounding estate areas with very expensive houses. I am talking about historic, downtown Abington and Jenkintown. Both areas are on the way to Horsham and pretty close to center city and the airport with train service to both.

I would go with Ambler. Older but charming town, diverse, and you can take the train to the airport - big advantage! Affordable housing.
Good luck with your move. Lansdale would be my second pick. |

I made it down to Horsham this weekend. Seems like a nice typical suburb. I think this will be a great move for me. I eagerly await the job offer. I think I'll try to get a local to take me to the areas recommended. Thanks for the information. I'll let you know how it goes.

Yeah, I would second Jenkintown, Abington, etc.

I'd suggest Hatboro or Glenside, as close to the train stations as you can get. The Glenside train goes straight to the airport 7 days a week.
