Don Vito has an insane PA accent. Those subtitles are a riot

Jon and Kate + 8 is not filmed in the Philly burbs, it's out in the Elizabethtown area. When the kids were born they were living in Wyomissing, outside reading, just down the road from me. But they moved shortly thereafter. I guess she does have a bit of the Philly accent, it's just not that heavy.

One pronunciation I've gotten flack for was "Wominton" instead of Wilmington.

The Philly accent took me about 3 words to notice!

Night = Nuyut (almost an oi sound)
On = Awwwn
Last = Leahst (that one is tough to spell out, but it's almost like a lazy schwa sound)

The weird thing with that weird "a" sound is a girl I work with used to say "beahd", but a word like exam was pronounced "exom". It's like she flipped the vowel sounds in those words.

...and beware of the HEAVY RRRRRrrrrrrrs and Looooong Oooooooos

Great = Grrrreat
Home = Hooome

I was watching Chris Matthews last night and he was interviewing former Gov. Erlich from Maryland. He's from Baltimore County. After about two sentences I was thinking, 'wow, these two have exactly the same accent'

I've heard Matthews was from PA,and I've heard the accent down into Delaware but not sure after that. Although in southern Delaware some actually have a southern accent.
