Another angle on the New Hope/Peddlers Village area...you can add a history angle to your trip by heading 10 min south of New Hope to Washington's Crossing state park and Bowman's Hill/Tower area. At park you can view a monstrous painting of Washington crossing the Delaware, and listen to a quick history lesson. At Bowman's you can climb the tower at the top (lookout tower during REvolutionary War) and also visit a spectacular wildflower preserve with nice hiking/nature trails.
Bucks County rocks.

If you have any interest in antique furniture or early American historic interiors and decorative arts the Henry Francis Du Pont Winterthur museum outside Wilmington is the premier destination in the country both for tourists and professionals. (He is the one who advised Jackie Kennedy at the White House and devoted his life to building this collection) You can take a tour that lasts a few hours or sign up for more detailed tours in your area of interest. The museum has a gazzillion period rooms from 1640 to 1860. The gardens surrounding the museum are also fabulous if you are into horticulture. I will post the url and see what happens. If she deletes it then just Google Winterthur. Welcome to Winterthur Museum & Country Estate

There are some nice shops and restaurants there too. On the way home, be sure to stop in Grover's Mill and see the War of the Worlds Monument.

Van Sant Covered Bridge is about 1 1/2 miles west of Bowman Hill Tower.

If your up by Lahaska, Peddlers Village, late spring through late summer, stop by Carousel Lavender Farm on Mechanicsville Road.
