I want to watch English soccer and there is not enough on Fox Soccer. Most of it is now on Setanta which is available on Directv but everyone says that I shouldwait for Verizon FIOS to be available in my area ( Elkins Park ) . Right now it is not. Any advice ?

I have Dish Network and love it - its inexpensive and reliable...I would imagine Direct TV is the same - I would pick whichever on has what you want to watch right now if you don't have the patience to wait until FIOS is installed...and considering all the problems I've had with phone and internet through Verizon, I really don't want to be at their mercy for yet another service...

For those of you who use satellite TV, what do you use for high speed Internet?
We have Comcast and I am reluctant to switch because the Internet service is awesome.

DSL router would need to be rebooted every couple of days - Verizon sent a new router out and that one didn't fix the problem either...apparently older phone lines can have enough noise on them to cause connection problems...a minor annoyance but you would think they could fix it...

In my new house the moron who installed FIOS internet configured the router, but didn't turn wireless on! Had to have him back once...then my connectivity kept dropping and it was an arm twisting experience to get a tech back out...apparently my laptop wireless card went bad but again the idiot who did the install should've given me a Verizon card to use...

And I have always had noise on my phone lines - I have had at leat 4 techs out here about 6 times...a couple guys found stuff the first idiot should have replaced when reactivating my phone service.

And I have had no show or service guys say "no noise on the outside line, I'm outta here" even after I had already set up and paid for inside line repair service!

Needless to say Verizon, at least in the Downingtown/Thorndale area is not high on my list these days...they like to sell their service but there is little service after the sale...still they are light years ahead of Comcast...

On the other hand, the Dish Network installer was professional and did a good job...he had to come back once to fix something but he didn't argue, just came back out. Their phone support is a tad lacking but not too bad considering it's available 24/7..

My mom has had a lot of similar problems with FIOS, so I'd steer clear of it. I have been using Dish Network for awhile and LOVE it, and my Comcast cable internet has been great too.
