That's because we don't "do" Bagels here. I get by on Dunkin Donuts, Manhattan Bagel, Einstein and Au Bon Pain bagels just fine.

I like LeBus at the Reading Terminal or 18th St just above Walnut. Also DiBruno's are good but they may come from LeBus anyway.

I love LeBus' fruit and nut bagels. Great big dried cherries and walnuts.

Fruit and nut?

OK, I haven't tried the baked goods in question, but that sure doesn't sound like a good bagel.

What's a good bagel? It's not a roll with a hole (eg, Dunkin Donuts "bagel"). It's boiled before it's baked. It's chewy. I've had good bagels with salt, with poppy seeds, with garlic, with sesame seeds -- or with all of the above ("everything").

Can't say I've ever tried a fruit and walnut bagel. It might be tasty, but I don't have hopes for it being an echt bagel. Nu?

Well it is good, but not in a traditional bagel sense.

Einstein Bagels are pretty good actually. Unfortunately the nearest real location (i.e. not a university sandwich shop) is in Marlton NJ
