Default Condos on the Main Line?

I read in another thread something about condos in areas on the Main Line? I will eventually be moving to the philly area after I graduate from school in North Carolina. My parents have a house in lower bucks county (newtown/langhorne area) but are looking to move closer to the middle of nowhere (re: lancaster), so I will probably need to establish my own place to live shortly after graduation and I plan on working in CC. I'm not much of a fan of 24hr city life, so I've mulled over getting something in Newtown and driving to the city everyday. However, I've always been kind of intrigued with the Main Line area. Are condos even available in this area, I wouldn't think they would be but read somewhere that they are and how much do you think they would run? Probably not something I could afford, but I'm still a little curious.

Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Andrea

I think there might be some in Radnor and sporadically around the Line but not too much. You'll find many more condo options in NJ, Mount Laurel, Marlton, Voorhees with easy access to center city via Patco train line.

There's lots of condos in the Main Line. Take a drive down Montgomery Avenue from Penn Valley through the Bryn Mawr (about 5 miles or so) and there's probably 20 complexes. Some are quite expensive. There's also a few new complexes (The Corinthian in Bala Cynwyd and another one sandwiched between a Land Rover dealership and the Amtrak/SEPTA lines) that are extremely expensive (but supposedly very fancy).

Most of the condos on the Main Line are east of Devon, but check out Devon, Paoli, and Malvern, and you will see some complexes. Also, these 3 areas tend to be a little less expensive because they are further out. Center City is accessible from the Main Line via SEPTA's R5, which operates on the Pennsylvania RR's old "Main Line."

If your parents are moving toward Lancaster, Lancaster is "close" to them in that you can take Route 30 (i.e. Lancaster Ave) out to them, but traffic is heavy.
