Default Is it easy to find an hourly job in Philadelphia?

I read an article that said the economy in Philadelphia will hold up a little better than others during a recession, so I'm considering a move to Philadelphia.

I've always wanted to live in a big city.
I plan on living with a roommate when I get there, I'll be using SEPTA, and I am very frugal with my money, and have no college degree. I am working at the airport now so I would like to get on with one of the airlines at PHL, most likely USAirways. But, I will take anything I can get when I first get there to make ends meet.

So you think I could get there and find work fairly quickly?
Do you all think that the economy will hold up fairly well in Philadelphia?
Thank You all in advance.

This time of year it should be relatively easy to find a job in retail or in a restaurant. I'm currently working for a company that services vendors at the airport. I can tell you that business has slowed considerably.

That doesn't mean that the airlines aren't hiring but I would check in with the company you work for now and see if you can't just transfer. Always better to have something lined up before hand.

stores,
