Women in Philadelphia, Phili metro, Delaware etc;
Does anyone think that the quality of women in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia area is you know "lacking"? I am not saying that they are not attractive, but it is almost as if most the women here just do not have that special appeal as women from Phoenix, Miami, ATL and NYC. That awe factor. It is almost as if you are tested to really try to go after a womans personality rather than their looks.
In Atlanta for example, there were beautiful women, beautiful black women. It makes you wonder if all the extremely attractive black women decided to go down south to the ATL and all the extremely attractive people of other races decide to go to NYC because when it comes to physical attractiveness it is seriously lacking here.
I am not saying they are not attractive, but compared to women from other cities there is really no competition. Why is the "quality" of women here so mediocre? Seriously, is it because of the way they carry themselves, not appealing to see a women smoke and not take care of herself. I see a lot of it here. Even in the college areas the women are not as attractive as I would think. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but something happened becuase there is a disparity between the attractiveness of women in the phila area compared to most cities. Should one really lower there standards when you know that there is so much better?

i never thought about it that way, but you're right
i'm attracted to black women, but not the ones here lololol
the genetics going around do not tend to be so hot. when spending long periods of time here, i start to believe i might be losing my attraction for black women, but again, thats not true
i have to admit, there are also parts of the south where this is true for far more so. but yeah, you're dead on

There was a report in some magazine several months ago that "awarded" Philly the title of "least attractive singles" or something like that. Of course, that counts both men and women. I'm biased to think that's not true... but then, I haven't spent enough quality time in any other city (besides the DC metro) to give an "expert" response.
That said, you may be onto something about the ATL. I encountered few unappealing women on my trips down there.

If you think it's bad in philly, don't come up to the poconos because you'll be unbelievably disappointed! I moved out of philly last year after going to graduate school there for 6 years and I didn't see a problem with the women there. Maybe you need to hang out in Roxborough or in Manayunk because there are tons of women down there on the weekends.

FIrst you say that the physical attractivness in the Philly area is lacking, then you say that you're not saying that Philly doesn't have attractive people. Which is it?

Are we talking physical attributes (i.e. what you're born with) or how they present themselves/dress? Just curious...
I did notice (after I left) that it's more popular in Philly to have highlights, fake nails, tans, and heavier makeup. It's something I was never really into, and noticed the difference when I went down to VA.

There's chicks around but most are married and the ones that are not are damaged goods in one way or another. I think the Philly area in general is more down to earth, less pretentious than many cities, and that tends to imply less money spent on clothing, 'enhancements' and other things associated with physical beauty. My unbiased opinion is that there are many more available chicks in NJ than PA or Philly but again it gets back to socioeconomic status and differences in culture. I see plenty of decent chicks in center city so it's not like they aren't there.

I'm sort of shocked...to think that you could say an entire city is lacking in physically attractive woman....Anyways, there are plenty of attractive women here, if you haven't met any I guess that's too bad. With a city as diverse as Philadelphia, how could there not be attractive women? It seems like one's own personal preferences play a huge role here, because there are plenty of men who live in Philly who think they've got plenty of choices
