Dear all,

I would like to get cheaper theater tickets, as in NY where you can get 50% discount for some shows...is that possible in Philly?
thanks

Not to that extent. If you go through a community center, club, etc you may get a discount but I don't think there is the large supply of shows as in NYC that makes discounting necessary to fill seats...here supply and demand are pretty well balanced...

You can subscribe to FunSavers which sends an email each Thursday with discounts for the following weekend including many theaters. Of course theater tickets in Philadelphia are already much less expensie than NY shows to begin with. A great deal are the $10 tickets to shows at the Walnut Street Theater. They are on the last row mezzanine but the theater is small so you see and hear fine. They go very fast (obviously) so the best thing is to be online when they go on sale.
