Housing for 5 days for guests...
We're looking for a way to house visiting relatives (4 hotel-rooms worth) for about 5 nights in March. We are in Roxborough, and they'd likely want to wander around Center City -- so a place reasonably close to either would work.
Any ideas on how to do this most conveniently and economically? A standard hotel is most expensive and therefore the last resort. I've thought about a longer-term hotel, which is still pretty expensive. A short-term rental seemed like a possibility but I haven't been able to find one for this short a term.
Thanks for any ideas you might have.

How bout a hostel? I know they're popular with young people traveling through Europe all the time, not sure how Philly's are but there are quite a few of them.

If you can house the lot of them together, you might be able to save a little by using vrbo or cyberrentals.

I agree with maf763. Check out vrbo.com and see what rentals are available in the Philadelphia area. This will probably only work if everyone can be in the same house.

Check out Apple Hostels - Welcome to Apple Hostels Philadelphia
This hostel is in Old City Philadelphia, very close to all the major historic sites and it has awsome reviews. If you don't mind staying in a hostel I would definitely go for it. There are pictures on the website and look at their FAQs to find out details. Beds start at $27 if you have an international student card.
