Looking on a map search website, I was able to find one Indian store within 10 miles of Lansdale: The Indian Deli on Broad Street. That would confirm my thought that there aren't any neighborhoods popular with Indians around Lansdale. If there are any Indian communities in the Philly metro, I'd be pleasantly surprised. I get the impression that Indians are fairly well-integrated into most suburban areas although I'd understand the desire to stay connected to one's culture. I'm sure that there are have to be community centers and such around, though.

Yeah I agree with Tone. There are a lot of Indians in the Lansdale area but they don't congregate in a single neighborhood.

Thanks for the info. Whatz the kind of rental for 1 bedroom apartment in Lansdale (preferable furnished)? Any suggessions for the apartment to look for?
Also, any idea about the car hire? I will be in Philly for about 7 months, do u think its better to hire car over weekends or buy a used car? My Office is real close to Broad St. so I prefer staying near office to avoid travel.

I would check out the ApartmentGuide website and type in Lansdale, PA.

Am I right to assume you mean Broad St. in Lansdale and not the much larger Broad St. in Philly?

That's a tough call about the used vs. rented (hired) car. My guess is that you may be able to get an older vehicle for less than you would have spent renting one every weekend. You may find you need it on a daily basis anyway as public transit out that way isn't as quite as convenient as it is in the city.
