While some people commute from the Reading area to exurban offices in, say, Exton or King of Prussia, it isn't really part of the Philadelphia metro although continuing suburban sprawl - and the long-promised Schuykill Valley Metro train - will make that inevitable.

I can say that the city of Reading itself does not have as positive a reputation as its surrounding suburbs. You'll probably get more specific answers on the general Pennsylvania forum.

I used to live in Wyomissing, which is essentially Reading. I can certainly answer any questions.

Not so much a question. lol

I live in Reading and am trying to find if anyone else here is also from Reading.

Hi there,

I live in a new establishment I'd say about 3 or so miles north of reading, just off of 61. I moved out here about 2 years ago from North Catasauqua in Lehigh bordering Northampton, and before that I was a New York City resodent. It's hard to meet people from my position and I don't like reading much because I have no friends out here =) just throwing that out here lol.
