The hospital and university are separated by a couple of miles or so, and you're talking about the area around the hospital which includes the medical school. Broad and Erie is a busy spot, and basically between there and the hospital two blocks away on Broad is relatively safe because of all of the hospital traffic. But there is still a lot of poverty in the neighboring streets. Given the economy, I don't see a spike in re prices happening any time soon. Down the road, it's hard to tell. Prices are low, it is convenient to transportation and CC, and the hospitals and med school supply a large work force. But those things have been true for years, so I don't know that a new building is going to change anything.
