Default South Philadelphia & Italians....

Does South philadelphia still have a sizable Italian community? Or have most of the Italians moved over to South Jersey and Delaware County? The last time I was in South Phila. it seems like it's changed quite a bit.

The sections that have always been Italian ie Italian Market area, are still Italian. The Jewish and other ethnicity sections have given way to hispanics, african americans and other ethnic groups, just the way cities have always worked...

Great place to live. Wonderful Italian community with lots of nice new neighbors. There are young professionals, a Mexican community, and Asian population rounding out the neighborhood. We live down here and walk to the Italian Market, check out the Amish vendors on Wednesdays, eat at the many delicious restaurants and enjoy the occaisional Pho or taco.
