Default Philly is the Sixth Borough?

Never heard that until I started coming here, but I found this article that is old but some of you may find it interesting. All about NYC'rs moving to Philly.

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/14/fa...ILLY.html?_r=1

Also a similar article about cost of living differences between Philly and other places: $50K In Houston Equals $123K in NYC, Study Finds - Gothamist: New York City News, Food, Arts & Events

This would demonstrate a big part of why I moved to Houston, even though I love Philly.

LLOJ is on a distinguished road
The only part of New York that resembles Philly is Brownsville/East New York.

I think it's pretty common to try to find similarities to one's home after you move. I'm guessing that a person from Philadelphia that moves to NYC will find things that remind him of home too. It brings a measure of comfort to find that things aren't so different. My daughter lived in China for a year and a big part of her coming to terms with her new home was that things were very, very different then what she was used to.
