We are looking to move before June of this year. We are new to the area and currently rent an apartment in Langhorne. We have looked in the city but haven't really found anything we liked so far for the price we're looking to spend (about $250,000). What are some nice, safe towns that are closer than Langhorne to the city? My fiance works in the Bensalem area and I work in Cherry Hill. We are willing to look at townhomes and houses in this price range. Thanks for your help.

Id recommend in NJ. Lots more townhomes over there. Not many in pa.. we looked.. Heck for $250k you can buy a NEW town home in Cinnaminson Harbor. Close to the bridge too. Nice too. They have ones done 3 bed 2.5 baths for $219k. Most expensive one is $226k.

This looks like a nice area. I will definitely look into these. What are the taxes on a place like this? I know I have been told that the taxes can kill you in New Jersey.

taxes are about 3500-4500 a year there. Not too bad

Great! That's actually reasonable. I'm not used to paying high property taxes like I'm sure everyone up here is. We are from Tennessee and the property taxes are next to nothing compared to these. I will definitely look into these now! Any other suggestions are also much appreciated.

I ran by there today to take a look but the Kaplan office was closed. Ryan Homes is also building townhomes in the Village at Cinnaminson Harbour so I stopped in their office. Their townhomes are great. They're also huge! Does anyone know anything about Ryan Homes? I am still planning on looking at the Kaplan townhomes as I see they are priced a lot cheaper.

we looked at both there. The ryan home are larger then the kaplan homes for sure. I think they are both fine.. depends on what you want. BTW- Kaplan owns most the development and sold a piece to Ryan. Go back and look at the kaplan homes too. If its only 2 of you go with the smaller Kaplan ones. Yoyu can see on the link i posted what the kaplan homes look like from inside. Our fav was the eastport. You get a lot of house for the money..
