Default Irish girls going to Philly :)

Hi everyone,

Myself and two friends are hoping to go to Philadelphia this summer for June and July to work and live there,

We cant seem to find any short-term rental accomodation for those two months, does anybody have any ideas of what we should do? We have our hearts set on Philly so we would really appreciate any help anyone can offer!

Our budget is about $2400 for the two months (Hopefully less )

Thank you!

I'd recommend checking out the website Craigslist. Go to the Philadelphia section and look under Sublets/Temporary for apartments that are available short-term. For neighborhoods, anything that says Center City is most always decent. Specifically, look for any of the following neighborhoods for relatively safe/centrally located/fun places to live:

Art Museum, Bella Vista, Center City, Society Hill, Washington Square, Old City, Rittenhouse Square or Queen Village

Good luck! (Below is an example which might get flagged but it's a good example...completely random, the ad isn't mine)

Also try sublets in University City - students who won't be around in the summer might be willing to sublet.

Go to Wildwood or Ocean City, NJ instead - lots of European kids work the boardwalk and you get the sun, surf and sand and a quintessential American experience. You can always take a bus to Philly. Philly in the summer is hot, muggy and smelly...and it empties out on the weekends!

I second Maf's response, I live in Ucity and there are a lot of cheap summer sublets to be had. Ucity is very close to center city and all the night life there as well.
